Vavasour House

A charismatic house, forming part of the Main Building of Red House, which is tucked away next to the 17th century chapel. |
Vavasour House is part of the original 17th century Red House. It was possibly originally used as the servants' quarters and stabling. It was refurbished in 2003 to provide attractive accommodation for a couple or small family. Many of the rooms retain their original character with feature windows and exposed roof timbers on the first floor. One side faces onto the shared courtyard and the other looks on to a private, gravelled area. Views of the chapel are given by 3 of the rooms. Some white goods (washing machine, dishwasher, electric oven and hob) are supplied, with tenants taking responsibility for their maintenance. |
