Storm Ciara gave us high winds and too much rain. The wind felled one of the old sycamores in the Moat Field and the rain has reduced the fields to a soggy mess. For the first time in ages the River Ouse burst its banks, rising about 6.30m above mean level. After a few alterations to the mares' grazing arrangements we could stand back and take in the unusual view of the river and boat pontoons. We now await Storm Dennis...
