The Last of the Apple Juicing
Last Saturday, bathed in glorious, autumn sunshine, we held the last of the four Apple Juicing sessions of the season. We had kept this one low key, as we were keen to process the last of the Red House crop and we had no outside volunteers on hand. However, we still welcomed a few visitors, who brought their own apples, and we were kept busy washing, pulping, pressing, bottling and pasteurising until the early evening. It's been another excellent year of bringing people together and enjoying the process of making use of a natural resource.
The picture shows Robin Gordon bottling the last of the juice with all the wreckage of the day's work behind him.
