Harvest Time
There's been a lot of activity in the arable fields around Red House as the harvest is being gathered. These bales of oat straw have been left in Butcher Field next to the drive and must dry out after the recent heavy rain. Hopefully, weather permitting, we'll be getting some straw from a field in the village for next winter's horse bedding. This will help our shift away from shavings which, once a by-product of the joinery trade, are now imported.
