Ducklings in the Fish Ponds
The Red House grounds have had a small duck invasion this spring as one pair has decided to nest in the gardens. As they were sighted on the Oval, in the tennis court area and by the cottages, it was never clear where they had actually nested but, now they have hatched 13 ducklings, they have moved down to the Fish Ponds. (Although they have been spotted moving the whole family through the Big Barn stables on one occasion). Abi Welborn, a keen photographer, has gained their trust and is able to get some great, close-up pictures.
