Entrance from the Stable Yard | The garden and west facing facade |
This is a semi-detached cottage tucked away in the victorian stable yard. It has excellent views over the moated site of the original 'Rede House' to the west and the main bedroom overlooks the River Ouse. It was originally one of the 18th century estate workers' lodgings and part of it may even have been a hayloft. In the 1990's it was extensively upgraded but retains many of the original features including exposed beams throughout and two fireplaces. It has recently been double glazed throughout and had improved insulation installed. The shared (with the next door property but with individual controls) oil fired central heating with its modern boiler help to make the running expenses of this cottage very reasonable. | |
