Baling in the Old Lodge Farm Fields
It has been perfect hay making weather and we have been working hard getting in our biggest crop ever. Nearly 30 acres of pasture gave us 1800 small bales and nearly 20 large rounds so the barns are now full. Temperatures soared in the last week but, with the air conditioned tractor and more machines for lifting the bales from the fields, much of the sweat was taken out of the job. The really hard work was stacking them in the barn, so "Thank you" to all the helpers who scampered out of houses each time a trailer load trundled in through the Oval.
