Remembrance Day
The 21 poppies are in the Chapel against the names of the pupils of Red House School who died in the wars. This year we focus on Clifford Pike who was at Red House from 1907 to 1909. His death is noted in the school magazine of April 1915:
We have to record the death in the trenches, while on patrol duty, of Clifford Pike whilst serving in the London Rifles. It is proposed to put up a small brass tablet to his memory in the Chapel.
It was also noted in that issue of the magazine that the 3 judges who took part in the school sports and prizegiving in July 1914 had all lost their lives in the war:

Col H.A. Lemprière DSO (7th Dragoon Guards) in the trenches Dec 1914
Maj Stansfield (Green Howards)
Maj Clive Dixon (17th Lancers) died of his wounds at Ypres.
