The Moor Monkees were back in action with a mix of Christmas Hits and songs they could play

A Merry Musical Christmas
The Christmas Celebrations of Moor Monkton and Red House continued this weekend with a musical evening at the village Schoolroom. The event got underway with the Brass Quintet, Something Else, playing carols outside with villagers singing along in the rain. Damp and definitely chilled after the singing, but with Christmas spirits high, we moved into the warmth of The Schoolroom where much food was served and more musical entertainment was provided by the Moor Monkees, the village band. The songs had some Christmas links but most were chosen because the band could play them. It was a thoroughly entertaining evening which united our dispersed little village and prepared us for the next event which will be the Christingle service at All Saints Church in Moor Monkton.
(Red House played a major part in the music as the leader of the brass band used to live on the Estate and 3 members of the Monkees currently live, or have lived, at Red House.)
