Three Candles of Advent
Red House celebrated the coming of Christmas with our annual Carol Service in The Chapel on Thursday evening. We broke with recent tradition and sang carols accompanied by the organ - the brass band who have played in previous years are on other carol playing duties in Moor Monkton later this week. The service, as always, was well attended, the congregation consisting of its usual mix of estate residents, friends, locals and Old Cavaliers. Tom Dewey played the organ beautifully, sympathetically leading the hearty singing through the carols. Thanks to the readers (ranging in age from 7's to 70's) who told the Christmas story in seven lessons. Mulled wine and mince pies were enjoyed in the Garden House afterwards.
