Wildlife at Red House
As nature gets ready for its winter rest it seems a good time to reflect on the abundance of wildlife that lives with us at Red House. A quick trawl through recent Red House photos produced this montage of wildlife shots, all of which are common sights around the estate. Some have been used previously as cover photos on the web site but most are new.
The deepening of autumn's grip only brings a change to what we see around us, not necessarily a reduction. While the invertebrates become less obvious deer, foxes and many birds become more visible. Hedgehogs are still out in force at night busily feeding themselves up and the sparrowhawks are beginning to make increasingly regular visits to the bird feeding stations as smaller birds begin to cluster around them.
