Successful Hunting
The owl box mounted on one of the ash trees in the withy hole next to the Moat Field has finally made a home for a family of barn owls and not the usual wood pigeons. There are 2 adults and 2 young and, with the young getting ready to leave the nest, there is a lot of activity around the withy hole. All the family are now flying but the offspring still need feeding. The picture shows a parent coming in to land at the box where a hungry face was peering out waiting to be fed.
