Shaggy Ink Cap Fungus
As the levels of autumn dampness rise the fungi have appeared around the fields of Red House. There has been a bumper crop of field mushrooms and the lawns have a good spread of these shaggy ink cap fungi shooting up through the grass. Shaggy Ink Cap, or Lawyer's Wig, is actually supposed to be edible when it first emerges but, as the caps open up, it soon turns to an unappetising black mush.
