A Summer Flood
Despite Red House getting off fairly lightly with the recent heavy rain we are experiencing unseasonal flooding. The River Ouse broke its banks on Saturday evening and the water slowly crept up the ings fields during Sunday. At least it provides us with a picturequse river scene and a chance to see the two boats (Willow and Elbrich) moored at Red House Landing (only Elbrich's mast is visible above the bank with the river at normal levels). Although the fields are wet, the caravan site has remained open, with the Estate's faithful old Fergie tractor being called into action to help stranded caravans.
