Lanterns for St Martin's Day
On Sunday 11th November the children living on the estate, and others from further afield, celebrated St. Martin's Day. The procession of lanterns is more traditional in Germany and the Netherlands but, as we at Red House have a significant connection with Germany, it is one we have adopted for the second year. We made a circuit of the Moat Field accompanied part of the way by Whisper and Kramer (two of the Red House horses) but, as the icy wind blew grew sharper, a hurried retreat was made to the warmth of Moat Cottage where hot pizza was served.
