It's Elderflower Season!
Red House has its fair share of elderflower bushes. We often consider them as weeds, owing to their ability to grow very fast anywhere we don't want them, but their berries are an important food source for wildlife in the late summer and autumn. For us humans, we've tried, unsuccessfully, to make wine from the berries. However, the flowers give a wonderful flavour to whipped cream on strawberries and, every year, we make far too much delicious elderflower cordial.
