Deer on the Ings
This roe deer was spotted on Red House Ings, close to the wood next to the water intake reservoir. This wood was planted in the 1980's to screen the reservoir buildings from Red House. Further planting in the 2010's in our own ings fields has created an extended habit for the deer, with a good food source and plenty of cover for raising their young. They are now a common sight in the fields near the river.
