Kestrel on a Gatepost
This beautiful kestrel was spotted on a gatepost behind the cottages. It was oblivious to the horses that were grazing nearby and the humans who were only 12 feet away. Perhaps it had spotted something in the grass below. It was also trying to ignore the vociferous, swooping swallows, who don't take kindly to any predator, although they were probably quite safe from this ground feeding one.
