Clearing the Bridlepath
We've had reports of a willow that had fallen across the riverside bridleway at Killingbecks. This is just downstream of the estate boundary and is a major riding cycling and walking route between Moor Monkton and Poppleton. With difficulty, cyclists and walkers were able to scramble over the 2 foot high trunk but it proved even trickier for riders, as it was only a few metres fron the hunting bridge that crosses the beck. After a few calls and texts it was decided, with the landowners permission, that the quickest solution was to just go down there and clear the timber ourselves. Once there, it only took 20 minutes of sawing to clear enough space for the path to be usable again.
