Squirrel in the Beech Tree
The wildlife at Red House never seems to rest, even in the dark, cold days of winter. There is a particularly busy spot by the yew trees in Prince Rupert garden. The trees keep the squirrels fed with their copious crop of berries. So, if you happen to walk on the path beneath them, there will be a scurry of squirrel leaping from trunk to branch and then a launch over the drive to land in the copper beech in the Moat Field. The squirrel pictured here had just done all that and was now taking a rest until the coast was clear.
