Apple Juicing 2022
After a delayed start to the apple juicing season, we had a very busy Sunday session with nearly 250 litres made. By midday, a formidable pile of apples had been delivered to the juicing tent by the pool. The team from the Moor Monkton Village Association were up to the task and, by 3.30pm, all apples had been pulped and pressed. However, at this stage, the tables at the pasteurising station were groaning under the weight of juice that still needed to be processed. Even with the two tanks going non-stop, the final batch was not pasteurised until 10.30pm.
It was so busy that there was no time to deal with the Red House crop which will have to be done over the next few days.
