Floods and Sunrises
In the past week we have had "a lot of weather" with high winds up to force 8 and a total of 14.2mm of rain. The winds brought only a few branches down but, more seriously, forced the boats on the Red House mooring off the river bank uprooting their central mooring point. Swift action by boat owners and estate staff produced a temporary solution until we have time to properly reinforce the moorings. The rainfall caused the river to rise quickly on Thursday, flooding the ings. The water backed up the drainage ditches producing this picture of last Friday's sunrise over the Hill Field.
