Moon Watching
Recent clear skies have given us beautiful days and starlit nights. With the full moon rising on Friday night, it was a good opportunity to have a close inspection of its surface with our newly acquired telescope. The picture, taken from the old stable yard at Red House, shows (large darker areas l to r, starting bottom left) Mare Imbrium, Mare Serenitatis and Mare Tranquillatatis. In these areas Apollos 11, 15, 16 and 17 landed.
