Another Hay Campaign
We have just finished bringing in this year's hay crop. A large, slow moving high pressure system had provided us with a very comfortable 2 week window for gathering the whole crop in one go. Despite being a very dry April, the rest of spring was excellent growing weather. This produced a high yield which meant we needed all that time to get over 2000 bales into the barns. The temperature was often in the 30's resulting in tough working conditions. The picture was taken from the cab of the old Massey Ferguson tractor (no air conditioning!) as it picked up 8 packs of bales from the Far Ings Field by the river.
