Keeping the Water Supply under cover
The new building for the water treatment plant, which is tucked around the side of the old stable yard, is just about complete. Red House has a borehole under The Oval where the water is naturally filtered by the sandstone bedrock 154 feet below the surface. This water needs further filtering, treating and pressurising to move it around the estate and this is all done in the shed. So, apart from needing to replace the old shed, we needed to expand the building slightly to fit in new equipment for removing iron from the water.
