Butterfly Heaven
A sunny day in August brings out the butterflies at Red House, particularly around the buddleia bushes, and it is a joy to stand and watch the colourful activity. The bush in Moat Cottage garden missed its pruning last winter, so it has grown very big, but this is fine with the butterflies. A total of 8 types were spotted and the collage is a selection of the peacocks, commas, tortoiseshells, meadow browns and painted ladies that crowded around the flowers. Whites and red admirals were either too camera shy or battered to be photographed.
