Tansy Beetles
These vary rare beetles have one of their last UK habitats on the banks of the River Ouse at Red House. Their life cycle is tied in exclusively to the tansy plant which likes the sunny aspect and sandy soil of the riverbank. We have two large patches of tansy, one in the near ings in which the horses graze and another in the far ings by the hay meadow, both of which are right next to the bridleway.
