The Red House Bike Tour

We are very lucky at Red House to have an excellent network of cycle routes running from the estate. One circular tour of 17km, from Red House to Moor Monkton to Poppleton and back, is the pick of the lot. The route takes you upstream on turf by the River Ouse, then on to track by the River Nidd, followed by a mixture of tarmac and track along the lanes back to Poppleton and, finally, back on to turf on the return leg along the Ouse to Red House.
This group of keen cyclists are pictured at Scagglethorpe Farm, near Thickpenny, having made friends with the farm dog. When the weather is as perfect, as it was on that day, the highlight is a stop on Poppleton Green where ice creams and cold drinks can be bought.
