Can We Reach the Roof Yet?
Timmy (10) and Jan (7) Gordon stand atop the growing hay stack in the barn to see if they can touch the roof. This photo was taken on Saturday afternoon and, by Sunday, after 900 bales had been stacked, they could sit on the top of the stack and easily touch the roof panels. They were part of the team of estate workers, residents, livery owners and workers' friends who helped to get a total of 1100 bales in from the Hill Field this weekend. Whether it was heaving bales to the top of the stack, rolling them along into position or providing cold drinks, Red House is extremely grateful to everyone who helped and contributed to the sense of occasion that occurs when so much work has to be done in such a short time.
