Bringing in the Hay
We have just brought in the first field of hay for the season. It has been a busy time for the tractors as the weather has been somewhat unsettled since we cut the hay 10 days ago. There were 2 very heavy rainstorms in that time but the wind and sun has done a remarkable job in drying the crop since. It was all hands on deck over the weekend as we rushed to clear the fields by Lodge Farm by the main road before the rains came again. A big thank you to all the helpers who loaded trailers and stacked in the barn, and also the caterers who kept us going with cool drinks and food. Next we have to cut the Hill Field at Red House for the main part of the crop.
