The Red House Geese
The Canada geese that live on Redhouse Ings have had a very successful breeding year, something that is all too obvious to the residents and guests at Red House. Skeins of over 300 have been seen skimming over our rooftops recently and there must be in excess of a thousand geese on the reservoir on any particular day. They indulge in a constant chatter which provides a feint background noise to the estate and this can rise to quite a commotion when they are disturbed, with wheels of birds flying off the water, over Red House and back again. The sight is truly impressive, causing us earthbound folk to look skyward and wonder.
