In The Trenches
At this time of year it seems to have become a tradition at Red House to sort out drainage. Last year we focused on field drains and currently we are working on the rainwater drains at the southern end of the Garden House. The old system had failed, so new pipes have been installed to take the water to the soakaway in the ditch by the Show Jump Arena. This will improve the soft patch of ground that was becoming a permanent feature on the edge of the top Caravan Site. Next job is to relay the drains from the log barn to the fish ponds.
