Red House Rock Stars
The Moor Monkees, the Moor Monkton and Red House based band, had a brush with "stardom" when they appeared last Saturday at the Tockwith Festival. The band, which uses Red House facilities to rehearse, went to the event expecting to be playing in a small tent tucked away in the corner of the field. However the small tent was actually quite big and we had the added good fortune to be on straight after the headlining act who were playing on the main stage. This band was none other than Fossil Collective who are about to go on tour to the States after a rapid rise to fame. As soon as they had finished, a large part of the crowd moved into Moor Monkees tent and the band was given the call to start up. Looking somewhat overawed, They launched into their 30 minute set and the crowd just seemed to love it. Brilliant!
On Stage: Rob Lockwood (lead guitar - hiding behind speakers), Ria Hennessy (vocals), Robin Gordon (drums), Dave Fincham (bass), Ian Pickering (rhythm guitar)
