A Male Banded Demoiselle Fly
An early morning walk down to the River Ouse provided a beautiful wildlife spectacle with insects everywhere to be seen. The highlight was at the pontoon of the Red House river mooring where this Demoiselle Fly (about 70mm long) posed elegantly on one of the bracing poles. It was very curious of the camera and kept a close watch with those beady black eyes.
