Rainbow over Adam
This rainbow appeared above Adam, the ancient oak, after another heavy shower on Sunday evening. The line of cottages was lit up by the setting sun as the steel grey cloud drifted east towards York. It has been a wet week with 43mm (1 3/4 inches) falling on Red House. Despite this, spring continues apace, the gardens are taking on their true spring colours and the abundant oak trees are beginning to lose their bright yellow green flowers and their darker green leaves are becoming more prominent.
