Sledging in the Moat
There was 10cm of snowfall on Saturday at Red House followed by a beautiful, sunny Sunday making it ideal conditions for a bit of sledging down the slope into the Moat. Quite a gang of Red House residents gathered in the Moat Field on the Sunday morning with a collection of sledges. Adults and children then spent a happy hour sliding down the bumpy mound into the moat. There were many crashes, much snow went down the back of necks and great fun was had by all. Louis Wilkinson, pictured above, proved to be the most fearless of tabogganists with frequent wild descents ending in a powdery heap. The games continued afterwards with snow football being the most popular activity. This involved highly illegal slide tackles and dubious use of snowballs with everyone trying to score in the same goal next to the Oval.
