The Chapel Flower Display
It has been a busy weekend at Red House with an Equestrian Cross Country Open Day on Saturday followed by the Moor Monkton Open Gardens, in which the Red House garden was included, on the Sunday. The Open Day was fairly quiet despite the sun shining all day but, for the riders who came, it seemed to be a very satisfying day out for them. The sun shone for the Open Gardens too, with well over 200 visitors looking around Red House. The 75 yard long herbaceous border was in full bloom thanks to the efforts of Ian Hartley and Amanda Thompson (gardeners in residence) and the chapel rose garden provided a scented haven. The highlight of the estate had to be the chapel which had been decorated with a beautiful floral display by Amanda Thompson and Jean Close (from Moor Monkton).
