A Barn Owl out Hunting
On the way to the estate office this morning one of our resident photographers spotted a barn owl flying into a sycamore in the Moat Field. Just happening to have his camera to hand, and following a short detour to Redhouse Ings, the owl was spotted again quartering his way over the long grass next to the reservoir. Undaunted by the human intrusion, the owl continued his hunt with a few more casts over the field. The resident geese probably did not help with their warning honks sending alarms to any small rodents and the owl was unsuccessful in his search for a late breakfast.
