The Lantern Walk
On Saturday the annual Lantern Walk was held at Red House to celebrate St Martin's Day. All the children from the estate took part, and some specially invited ones came too, which brought the total of little walkers to nine. The lanterns were made by the children from paper, card or glass jars and candles or battery powered bulbs are used to light them. The route took them down the estate drive to the gate and then back past the caravan site to Moat Cottage, where a fire was crackling in the hearth and freshly baked pizzas were waiting in the oven. This is a magical event for the children with the thrill of venturing out into the dark followed by the party atmosphere afterwards making a great evening for everyone.
