One Fed and One Hungry
An adult swallow flies off a fence rail near the old stables to find more food, having just fed the fledgling on the left. Red House has a growing population of swallows this year and there are signs of the adults building new nests for a second brood.
Sadly there have been no house martins (their migration north seems to have been poor this year) or sand martins (who usually nest on the river bank have also failed to arrive following flooding in the last 2 summers).
