Stop Pushing!
One of these blue tit chicks was nearly pushed out of the nest by its sibling as this picture was being taken. Fortunately it managed to hang on and both have now flown the nest. The nest is located close to the manège in the 17th century kitchen garden wall; we have purposefully left the brick loose as it has always been a favourite nesting site for blue tits.
The gardens and fields around Red House are positively teeming with this year's new born birds and animals and, with the first flight of fledglings, the dawn chorus can be quite deafening.
