The Ouse Championships
This Sunday saw the Ouse Angling Championships held on the river above York. 130 anglers took part with many stationed at pegs along Redhouse Ings and Alder Tree Reach. After the recent cold weather, the favoured pegs were just downstream of Red House by the deeper waters at Killingbecks but the anglers using the Estate fields were still looking forward to a good day when this picture was taken. Sadly, the bright sun in the morning soon gave way to heavy showers later on which must have dampened a few spirits.
