Red House's Year of the Toad.
It's not been all bad news for the wildlife at Red House after the wet conditions we have experienced this summer. We have seen an explosion in the toad population with hundreds of parents and offspring hopping about in the damp evenings. Quite a few have tried to move into houses when a door was left open although, fortunately, most have been searching for winter residences in ditches and rockeries. This good looking chap was disturbed when a tarpaulin was moved so he had to be relocated to the nearest ditch.
