Lazin' on a Sunny Afternoon.
On Sunday 8th June the Estate hosted the first concert of the female vocal quintet, The Barbarellas. Taking place in the beautifully decorated Chapel, adults and children were held captivated for an hour while they listened to an eclectic mix of musical styles ranging from 16th century madrigals to 20th century ABBA hits. After the concert the swimming pool was opened and families ate picnics under the trees in the orchard and tennis court area and a wonderfully hot (30 degrees C), summer afternoon was spent on the lawns in front of the Main Building.
The concert was attended by estate residents, Red House Livery riders, Old Cavaliers (old pupils of Red House Prep School) and also new visitors to the estate. The proceeds of £198.50 were kindly donated by the Barbarellas to the Red House Chapel Restoration Fund.
