The Barbarellas

Lazin' on a Sunny Afternoon. On Sunday 8th June the Estate hosted
the first concert of the female vocal quintet, The Barbarellas. Taking place
in the beautifully decorated Chapel, adults and children were held
captivated for an hour while they listened to an eclectic mix of musical
styles ranging from 16th century madrigals to 20th century ABBA hits. After
the concert the swimming pool was opened and families ate picnics under the
trees in the orchard and tennis court area and a wonderfully hot (30 degrees
C), summer afternoon was spent on the lawns in front of the Main
Building. The concert was attended by estate residents, Red House Livery
riders, Old Cavaliers (old pupils of Red House Prep School) and also new
visitors to the estate. The proceeds of £198.50 were kindly donated by
the Barbarellas to the Red House Chapel Restoration Fund. Picture by
