Feeding the Young
The House Martins are having a busy time feeding their second batches of young at the moment. They are taking advantage of the rare sunny days when the flying insect population is high. This nest has been built beneath the bay window of Montrose House and the parents can be seen swooping around the Oval and Moat Field collecting insects on the wing. This year we have had an influx of House Martins while, in previous years, we have been visited almost exclusively by Swallows.
