Boats on the River Ouse
This weekend saw the start of the boating holiday season with many cruisers passing Red House Landing. A popular mooring point is at the confluence of the Ouse and Nidd, a mile upstream from Red House, where there is an easy stroll past the Priory to the village of Nun Monkton and its excellent pub, The Alice Hawthorn. These two boats are heading downstream towards York.
