The Ancient Oak known as Eve.
The late afternoon sun highlights "Eve" in her reclining position. The age of this tree is unknown and it is not certain when she fell but we do have a picture of her standing in 1911 (see the photo archive 1911 picture 001). When summer arrives she still produces a fine canopy of leaves and, last year, produced a bumper crop of acorns. The shadows stretch into the landing field which is looking wet and muddy after the recent rains. On the horizon is Overton Wood.
