Sycamore branches against a blue sky.
This dead sycamore tree in the Moat Field produces a striking pattern against a summer sky. This year has seen a lot of stress in the trees at Red House after the wet spring and increasingly dry summer. So far three old sycamores have died but all were well over a hundred years old and had probably come to the end of their life anyway. Some replanting is planned in the near future.
