Funday Sunday - The Stocks
Under the doubtful pretext that one has to do anything to raise money, the Deputy Head Master (Mr Gordon) was instructed to stand in the stocks while merciless pupils pelted him with wet sponges. Strangely enough this was a popular activity and there were handsome takings by the end of the day. This picture shows Alan Pittendreigh being more accurate with the sponge than he ever was with the cricket ball while Henri Murison stands by, doubtless egging him on.
