In most years the school 1st XI cricket team would play a team comprised of fathers of the pupils. In 1965 the game took place on the 30th May. The boys batted first and scored 101 runs, the fathers replied with 98. A quote from the school magazine for that term reads, "The fathers match provided an enjoyable afternoon's cricket, with the customary "high spots"."
